My Lovely Wife, by Samantha Downing

OMG, My Lovely Wife is a total humdinger. I find it difficult to believe it’s a debut novel given just how utterly readable it is. I’d almost had my fill of crime and psychological thrillers when I came to read this, but it really stood out head and shoulders above the rest. I don’t want to give anything away, but it has made me look at all those normal families around me and wonder what might actually be going in in their lives…

Samantha Downing kept me totally hooked. She writes believable everyday characters who do unbelievably ghastly things. The book is twisty, nasty, dark, compelling and utterly riveting.

Book blurb:

This is a story about a married couple. They met, fell in love, had two beautiful children. So far, so ordinary.
But they have a very dark secret.
It’s a story with a twist. And then another. And another.
You might think you’ve read stories like this before.
You’d be wrong.
By the end of the first chapter you’ll be hooked.
At page fifty you might not sleep until you finish.
And when you turn the last page, you’ll ask yourself one question:
How well do you really know the person you love most?

About the author:

Samantha Downing currently lives in New Orleans, where she is furiously typing away on her next standalone book. My Lovely Wife is her first novel
